I've been told not to confuse a goat with a ghost

At the beginning of the previous century in a small region above Amsterdam, called Waterland, there was a local family doctor who collected folktales from his patients. These short stories were passed on orally in limited circles. They are about hauntings, witches, nightmares, folk medicine practices, transformations of humans to animals and vice versa. The stories take place in the flat Dutch landscape of Waterland, between the meadows, ditches and lakes.
